20150204PHT19003_originalDie Europäischen Parlaments has set up a new blog listing the latest digital resources that are free to use. Updated around the clock, this page informs you what images, infographics, videos and photos are available for you to download as soon as they become available.
Not only are these materials free to use, they are also often available in all of the EU’s 24 official languages, from Bulgarian to Swedish.

The high quality editorial products are ready to be embedded, published or broadcast on websites and on social media.
The blog is run by the European Parliament’s web communications unit.

Civil Society Europe Launch – 3 Februar 2015

HandsMehr als thirty European civil society networks, including EUNET, supported the creation of Civil Society Europe auf 16 Dezember 2014 in Rome. The launch of Civil Society Europe will take place on 3 February in the European Parliament Press Center, von 13:30 auf 14:00.

Civil Society Europe will work towards regenerating the European project around the shared values of Equality, Solidarity, Inclusiveness and Democracy expressed in its Manifesto.
It will enable horizontal exchanges between civil society organisations and movements across Europe, providing a common and permanent space to share experience and knowledge, scale up campaigns and other forms of collective action, strengthen the capacity of its members to connect people in the diversity of their democratic forms of expression and act for change around the shared values expresses in its Manifesto.

The ‘Franco-German duo’ and Europe as seen in cartoons (1945-2013) enthält mehr als 400 Presse-Karikaturen , die eine humorvolle bieten, quirky interpretation of this important historical period in which a united Europe began to take shape, and reflects on more than 50 Jahre der deutsch-französische Zusammenarbeit. Die Annäherung, die in den ersten Jahren nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg zwischen Deutschland und Frankreich begann, zwei Länder, die bereits langjährige Feinde hatte, ein Sonderweg.

As well as cartoons, this publication includes several other documents, resources and digital tools (an interactive timeline, short biographies and a bibliography). It is available in French, English and German.

Terminologie der europäischen Bildungspolitik (2014)

TerminologyThis multilingual glossary (2014) defines 130 key terms used in European education and training policy. It is an extended and updated version of ‘Terminologie der europäischen Bildungspolitik' (2008) and ‘Terminology of vocational training policy' (2004).
Sie considers new priorities of European union policy, mainly in skills and competence needs analysis. New definitions have been developed with experts from Cedefop.

2015: Europäisches Jahr für Entwicklung

Europäisches Jahr für Entwicklung 2015On January 9th the European Union is officially opening the Europäisches Jahr für Entwicklung in the Latvian capital Riga. Latvia has the EU-presidency for the first six months of this year and actually came up with the initiative for a year focused on development three years ago.
This year’s EU slogan “Unsere Welt, Our dignity, Our future” is supposed to call upon all European actors to work towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) together.

The EU is the biggest donor of the official development assistance (ODA) in the world. Four years after the adoption of the Agenda for Change, according to the European Commission, 2015 is the ideal time for donors and stakeholders to come together to look at what has been achieved so far, and most importantly, what still needs to be done.
