Gender equality is inextricably linked to education. However, gender-based discrimination in education is both a cause and a consequence of broader forms of gender inequality in society.
The new OECD website monitors the progress made by governments to promote gender equality in both OECD and non-OECD countries and provides good practices based on analytical tools and data. The OECD Gender Data Portal includes selected indicators shedding light on gender inequalities in education, employment, entrepreneurship, health and development, showing how far we are from achieving gender equality and where actions is most needed.
The data cover OECD member countries, as well as partner economies including Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, and South Africa.
