Waves of Democracy 2015: registration is now open

Waves of Democracy 2015On behalf of IUC–Europe and Centre for Culture, Alsion, we would like to invite young Europeans to Sønderborg, in the summer of 2015 to develop a platform for dialogue, intercultural exchange and networking in Europe.
The Summer Academy will address current challenges in culture and politics by using a variety of advanced tools and methods, and set up new models for discussing and narrating Europe. The seminar week will include workshops, study visits, excursions, creativity and performance.

2015: European Year for Development

European Year for Development 2015On January 9th the European Union is officially opening the European Year for Development in the Latvian capital Riga. Latvia has the EU-presidency for the first six months of this year and actually came up with the initiative for a year focused on development three years ago.
This year’s EU slogan “Our world, Our dignity, Our future” is supposed to call upon all European actors to work towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) together.

The EU is the biggest donor of the official development assistance (ODA) in the world. Four years after the adoption of the Agenda for Change, according to the European Commission, 2015 is the ideal time for donors and stakeholders to come together to look at what has been achieved so far, and most importantly, what still needs to be done.

Report from the European Education, Training and Youth Forum 2014

ETYForum2014The third edition of the European Education, Training and Youth (ETY) Forum took place in Brussels on 9th and 10th of October 2014. The theme of the Forum was Future priorities of the ET2020 Strategic Framework for European Cooperation in Education and Training and Synergies with Youth Policy.
The event hosted forward looking discussions to identify key priority areas for policy cooperation as part of the review of the Framework for European Cooperation in Education and Training (ET2020). It gathered more than 350 participants representing different types of stakeholders and organisations active in education, training and youth. The ETY Forum 2014 report is out now, containing key messages from the forum and the summary of the sessions, panels and workshops.

EA Berlin – Ausschreibung für junior experts “likeminds”

EA Berlin”likeminds” ist ein binationales Begegnungs- und Besuchsprogramm in Deutschland und in der Türkei. Es verbindet junge Leistungsträger, bringt sie in einen themenorientierten Dialog und vernetzt sie fachlich und persönlich.
Im fünften Durchgang 2015 geht es um das Thema ”Energy – fuel for economies, states and societies”.

Konkret richtet sich das Programm an deutsche ”high potentials”, Juniorexperten und Multiplikatoren aller gesellschaftlichen Bereiche.
”likeminds” greift aktuelle gesellschaftliche und politische Diskurse auf und bietet ausgewählten Bewerberinnen und Bewerbern die Gelegenheit, sich gemeinsam mit ihren türkischen ”peers” mit Fragen am Puls der Zeit auseinander zu setzen .
