Preis Politische Bildung 2015: „Ungleichheit in der Demokratie“

bapDer Bundesausschuss Politische Bildung (bap) vergibt zum vierten Mal den “Preis Politische Bildung“.
Das Motto der aktuellen Ausschreibung ist: “Drinnen oder Draußen. Wie viel Ungleichheit verträgt die Demokratie?” Projekte und Veranstaltungen der politischen Jugend- und Erwachsenenbildung zum Thema können sich online bewerben.
Der Preis ist mit insgesamt 15.000 Euro dotiert und wird im Rahmen des Bundeskongresses Politische Bildung am 20. März 2015 in Duisburg verliehen.

Charlemagne Youth Prize 2015 opens for applications

en-eu-charlemagneyouthprizeThe “European Charlemagne Youth Prize” aims to encourage the development of European consciousness among young people, as well as their participation in European integration projects.
The Prize is awarded to projects undertaken by young people which foster understanding, promote the development of a shared sense of European identity, and offer practical examples of Europeans living together as one community.
“The European Charlemagne Youth Prize” is awarded jointly and annually by the European Parliament and the Foundation of the International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen.

“Europe in Harmony” – The EESC Video Challenge

logo_eih_210px-largeThis year, the EESC is giving it a musical twist and inviting amateur video-makers, choirs and singing groups from all 28 EU Member States to share their video-making virtuosity and singing talent.
The challenge is to perform an interpretation of “Ode to Joy” transformed as you wish – jazz, pop, rap, funky, classical, traditional using any lyrics you like… Let your inspiration guide you.

The submission period runs until 20 February 2015 and will be followed by a public voting and the final selection of the winners by a jury.

United Nations Democracy Fund – call for civil society projects

UNDEF_600pxThe United Nations Democracy Fund invites civil society organizations to apply for funding for projects to advance and support democracy during the annual proposal window, which is open only from 15 November to 31 December at www.un.org/democracyfund.
Only on-line proposals during this period, in either English or French, will be accepted.

UNDEF projects are two years long, project grants ranging from $100,000 to $300,000, and fall under one or more of six main focus areas:

  • Community development
  • Rule of law and human rights
  • Tools for democratization
  • Media
  • Women
  • Youth

eca landscapeIn its landscape review of risks to the financial management of the EU budget the European Court of Auditors (ECA) identifies key issues for good financial management of the EU’s finances. All actors dealing with the EU budget, say the EU auditors, should focus on obtaining results and EU added value, while ensuring that EU money is properly accounted for and spent as intended.

It’s worth reading the summary in the beginning of the report since it also affects, or will affect, grants in educational programmes or similar ones.
