A revamped OECD Gender Portal

OECDGender equality is inextricably linked to education. However, gender-based discrimination in education is both a cause and a consequence of broader forms of gender inequality in society.

The new OECD website monitors the progress made by governments to promote gender equality in both OECD and non-OECD countries and provides good practices based on analytical tools and data. The OECD Gender Data Portal includes selected indicators shedding light on gender inequalities in education, employment, entrepreneurship, health and development, showing how far we are from achieving gender equality and where actions is most needed.
The data cover OECD member countries, as well as partner economies including Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, and South Africa.

Survey on Civil Dialogue mechanisms on European and national level

Civil Society EuropeCivil Society Europe and its working group on Civil Society Recognition, which EUNET is part of,  has prepared an online questionnaire on an assessment of civil dialogue mechanisms open for both European and national NGOs and associations.

The responses to the questionnaire as well as the results of interviews with NGOs and EU institutions will contribute to the preparation of a report on the State of the Union of civil dialogue in the EU to be issued in the autumn.

This survey aims at analysing Civil Society Organisations (NGOs, associations) interaction with the different European Union institutions and the possibility to share their expertise and influence decisions on EU policies and legislation.

The survey includes questions on the dialogue organised by the European Commission, European Parliament and the Council both in Brussels and at national level.

Please do not hesitate to share it with your members or with other civil society organisations you are in contact with.

Questionnaire on the place of women within the religions

Council of EuropeThe Conference of INGOs of the Council of Europe is considering the place of women within the various religions in Europe. The reason for this reflection reflects the challenges for civil society and human rights.

The European law states respect churches and religious communities as various European provisions, the European Convention on Human Rights, the Lisbon Treaty for Member States of the European Union. But also national laws protecting freedom of conscience and worship for nationals of member countries of the Council of Europe by ensuring equality between women and men. We wonder the fate of this equality among religions.

First, we propose a questionnaire to which we thank you for responding and distribute within your network, with your various contacts if possible for May 25, please find the link  : https://nl.surveymonkey.com/r/779JFV3-EN.

Then, the result will be presented June 21 at the Council of Europe in an event “Religions are they a place of empowerment for women? Progress, setbacks?”
